At Holy Comforter, after we have sung the last hymn on Sunday mornings, the entire congregation turns from the altar to face all the messy, beautiful, holy world that lies beyond our doors. Our Deacon then says, “The worship has ended, now the service begins. Let us go forth rejoicing in the Power of the Spirit.”
That captures the essence of our worship. We pray, sing, rejoice, sometimes lament, and receive the infinity of God’s love as we take “the Bread of Heaven” and the “Cup of Salvation” during Holy Communion.
